A Fresh Perspective: Manufacturing Employer Panel and learn about local manufacturing opportunities. Local manufacturers will discuss and answer questions about what it's like to actually work in manufacturing today, career pathways for people with high school diplomas to PhDs, safe working conditions, and the challenging yet cutting-edge opportunities employees enjoy as part of one of the area's largest industry and economic drivers.

About the Panelists:
James Willats, President
Machining Concepts
Jim is an engineering graduate of Penn State University where he obtained his professional engineering license. He has worked in product test and design for the New Holland Equipment Company, served as the Vice President of Manufacturing and Product Development at Reed Manufacturing and was an administrator for the Regional Occupational Skill Center. Jim has been a member of the Erie Regional Manufacturing Partnership since its inception and is currently helping to develop a national faith-based Jobs for Life Program in the Erie area.
Kathryn Schaaf, Workforce Development Specialist
Industrial Sales and Manufacturing
Kathryn is originally from the United Kingdom, is an attorney by background and served in the Royal Air Force. She recently moved to Erie and joined ISM as a HR and Workforce Development Specialist. Kathryn serves on the Board of Directors for the NWPA Job Connect as well as their Governance and Workforce Solutions Committees. Additionally, she is a member of the ECCPA Engineering and Industrial Technology Advisory Group.
