Fire and EMS in Erie receive over $340K in state grants

State Rep. Jake Banta | Pennsylvania 4th Legislative District

State Representative Jake Banta has announced that over $340,000 in grants have been awarded to local fire and emergency services within the 4th Legislative District. The funding aims to support the essential services provided by these organizations, many of which rely on volunteers.

“These grants help support our local heroes,” stated Banta. “Without our Fire and EMS companies, many of whom serve as volunteers, our community would not be the same. These grants are essential to continuing and upgrading services.”

The total amount allocated to fire companies in the district exceeds $194,600. Among the recipients are A F Dobler Hose and Ladder with $12,663, City of Corry Fire Department receiving $13,309, and Corry Regional Fire Company receiving $25,739. Other beneficiaries include Crescent Hose Company with $12,018 and Edinboro Volunteer Fire Department with $15,461.

EMS companies were also awarded grants totaling $150,000. Each of ten EMS companies received a grant of $15,000. The recipients include A F Dobler Hose and Ladder; Central Erie County Paramedic Association Inc.; Crescent Hose Company; Edinboro Volunteer Fire Department; Lake City Fire Company; Mill Village Volunteer Fire Company; Stancliff Hose Company; Union City Volunteer Fire Company; Wattsburg Hose Company; and West County Paramedic Association.
