Rep. Jake Banta has announced the allocation of $43,500 to Washington Township for a watershed conservation plan in Erie County. The funds will support the development of a plan for the 240-acre Edinboro Lake Watershed.
"This grant will help ensure the long-term health and sustainability of the Edinboro Lake Watershed," stated Banta. He emphasized that creating a comprehensive conservation plan is crucial for protecting natural resources, enhancing water quality, and preserving the area for future generations. "The work completed through this project will provide valuable insights that will guide future conservation efforts in the region. I was pleased to support this project."
The funding comes from the Community Conservation Partnerships Program Grants, managed by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ Bureau of Recreation and Conservation. This program offers financial and technical assistance to local governments, river and trail organizations, land trusts, and other nonprofits involved in park, recreation, conservation, and greenways projects.
