Erie's Sarah A. Reed Children's Center (SARCC) has received a grant of $71,500 through the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) for the renovation of the St. Ann's campus. The announcement was made by Sen. Dan Laughlin (R-49).

"Sarah Reed has had a presence in Erie since 1871, and it now specializes in mental and behavioral health care for children, teens, families, and individuals," said Sen. Laughlin. "The St. Ann's campus is home to several school-based classrooms for the students in Sarah Reed's sanctuary-based learning programs, many of whom have experienced some form of trauma in their lives."

The funding from NAP will be used to replace the main roof and the north gym roof at St. Ann's campus, as well as upgrade the building's HVAC system. This will help enhance the learning environment for the children in the Sanctuary® Education for Learning Fundamentals Program (SELF) and the Sanctuary® Based Learning Program (SBLP), which serve students in grades 3-12 from the Erie City School District.

Sarah A. Reed Children's Center is dedicated to improving the well-being of children, adults, and families, helping them realize their potential and experience success. This grant from NAP will further their mission and support their efforts to provide quality mental and behavioral health care to those in need.

The NAP grant received by SARCC falls under the category of neighborhood assistance. It is aimed at supporting distressed areas and promoting neighborhood conservation. The grant focuses on various areas such as affordable housing programs, community services, crime prevention, education, job training, and neighborhood assistance.

This funding will have a significant impact on the St. Ann's campus, enabling SARCC to continue serving the community and providing a safe and supportive environment for children in need. It is a testament to SARCC's commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of individuals and families.
