All new students should arrive at the Recreation and Wellness Center (RWC) located at 130 W. Fourth St., Erie, PA 16507. We will then give you instructions on getting to your residence hall or Commuter Life meeting.

Welcome Week, Friday Aug. 19 - 23

All students are expected to participate in Welcome Week, which begins on arrival day, Aug. 19, and ends on Tuesday, Aug. 23. This extended orientation is a transition period designed to help you settle into campus, build connections with the Gannon community, find programs you want to engage in, and develop a sense of belonging on Gannon's campus before classes start. By participating in Welcome Week, you are more likely to be successful during your time at Gannon.

Gannon 101

Welcome Week includes your first four sessions of Gannon 101, before traditional classes even begin. These sessions are to help you prepare for the first day of class and to get you connected to your Transition Guide and your Gannon 101 employee facilitator. Attendance at these sessions is mandatory and count toward your grade in the course. Each session starts at 1:30 p.m.

First Year Team (FYT)

First Year Team activities also take place during Welcome Week. For example, if  you are in an outdoor adventure group you will have the opportunity to go kayaking on Presque Isle, and if you are in the Explore Erie group you will get a chance to go out on the lake and watch a SeaWolves game.

Welcome Week Schedule

You can view the whole Welcome Week schedule on the Gannon Guide app by downloading the Gannon Guide from your app store and then searching for the guide titled, “2022 GU Welcome Week.”
