Gannon University Athletics issued the following announcement on June 7.
100% of students accepted to four-year colleges
Since 1921, Cathedral Prep has been developing men of vision in spirit, mind, and body. The students are provided a solid foundation on which to build the rest of their lives. On Sunday, June 5, 94 men of Prep lined up in their traditional white tuxedos on the steps of the Warner Theatre for the 98th Annual Commencement Ceremony. The graduates were ready and eager to embark on their next journey. It was the culmination of a goal many students had since they first set foot in Cathedral Prep as freshmen. The graduates had the honor of receiving their diplomas from The Most Rev. Bishop Lawrence T. Persico J.CL., Interim President Dave Slomski '72 and Vice President of Academics and Student Affairs William Pituch.
Graduates and their families and friends heard speeches from class selected speaker Michael Vereb '22 and Andrew Kolodychak '22, who each recalled memories from Prep and how their time as classmates has bonded them as brothers for life. Classmate Charles Rutkowski '22 served as the master of ceremonies for the event. This year’s class was also joined by members of the Class of 1972 celebrating the 50th anniversary of their graduation. The Prep & Villa Class of 2022 earned over $30 million in scholarships, which makes up an average of roughly $186,000 per student!
