Gannon University Athletics issued the following announcement on Jan. 13.

There's something for everyone when it comes to culinary options in Erie -- including the black bean burger at Tap House (shown above).

Erie has so many new restaurants and markets that it’s hard to keep track of them all, so we did it for you. In addition to breaking out of your current restaurant rut, there are several markets in the area -- including a variety of international options.

Here are five of the best new restaurants to visit:

  1. Flagship City Food Hall: This newly opened food hall on State Street includes local restaurants and start-ups, including Noodlelove (Asian cuisine), Luckie Louie’s (Erie favorite for hot dogs), Perry’s Tavern (pizza), Dina’s (Dominican cuisine), Straw Hat Sundae Shop (ice cream treats), Shawarma Station (Middle Eastern cuisine), Taste of Love (Southern Fusion), Taste and See Fruit & Veggie Bar and Blue Willow Bakery and Café.
  1. Chick-fil-a: Your fast-food favorite is now part of the Gannon family – go check out the new restaurant located in Waldron.
  1. Bar Ronin: This Japanese-fusion restaurant has tons of options and includes desserts fresh from Icing on the Lake next door (Try the Matcha Cream Puffs!)
  1. The Cakery Café: Grab a breakfast sandwich or a coffee between classes at the Cakery Café, located within the Marquette Innovation Center.
  1. LUMI: Check out LUMI when you want a healthy option on campus. They have dairy-free, plant-based and vegan options.
Find new favorites or create your own using the food map. The map includes directions to the markets nearest to campus for your convenience.

Bookmark the map here for the next time you need it.
