Fair Trade Sale Remix

Gannon University Athletics issued the following announcement on Dec. 1.

An example of what you can purchase to give beautiful gifts and support the work of the Center for Social Concerns and Global Exploration.

The Center for Social Concerns and Global Exploration is committed to helping our community make more just choices, and we have long believed that one of the best ways to do this is through fair trade shopping. We have been pleased to host fair trade sales for more than a decade, and the tens of thousands of dollars our Gannon family has spent at these sales have benefitted artisans throughout the world, as well as helped to fund the ABST program for students right here!

Unfortunately, the changing polices of Serrv, our fair trade partner organization, means that the fair trade sale as we have had it in the past is no longer possible. Never fear! We have worked to create a multisensory experience to introduce you to a wider variety of items than before, including a wide array of the fair trade food products in a tasting bar.

And we understand that buying fair trade is not the only way to shop responsibly. This year’s sale will include items purchased on our last ABSTs in February and early March 2020 and locally made small business items. And, of course, we will have Just Haiti coffee for you to purchase!

Join us on Thursday, December 9 for our fair trade capsule experience! We will be in the Wright Room from 10:00-5:00 p.m. We will have a limited array of items available to take home on that day, and will be placing a bulk order (which means free shipping!) for you with delivery by December 15. Visit serrv.org to select your items and send the item numbers to cscge@gannon.edu for free shipping, or shop at your convenience using our affiliate link at http://serrv.org/?a=GUABST to shop fair trade all year long.
