Cathedral Preparatory School issued the following announcement on Aug. 4.

17 students, alumni, faculty, and past parents participated in the Kentucky Mission Trip from July 12th through July 16th. This year's trip was a wonderful experience of service to Lewis County, specifically the town of Vanceburg. This mission has been in existence since 1972, which was started out of Notre Dame Church in Hermitage by Sr. Therese Dush. This year's primary focus was re-establishing relationships people since last year's trip was cancelled due to the pandemic. During their time there, the group led Vacation Bible School, which was organized by Anne Causgrove.

The theme for the bible school was "Jesus is my Superhero", and each day the children were introduced to superheroes from the Old and New Testaments. They learned through various activities - skits, songs, etc. They colored, played games, made crafts, and, most importantly, had lots of fun! In the evenings. The group either hosted other groups at their camp at Glen Springs Chapel or visited local church communities where they sang and shared testimonials/witness talks. Each day started the only way we know how, with mass! They also hosted a memorial service for several of our friends from Kentucky who passed away since they were last there. This year, as always, the trip was incredibly meaningful. Next year is this trip's 50th anniversary, and everyone is very excited to plan for it!
