Cathedral Preparatory School issued the following announcement on Aug. 2.
Prep and Villa Theater Program presented the musical “Godspell” at St. Patrick Church this past weekend. A group of students approached Fr. Mike DeMartinis, the Director of the Prep and Villa Theater Program, about the possibility of doing a summer show. After a year with practically no theater anywhere, except at Prep and Villa where 4 live shows took place (!!), it seems as though our students couldn’t get enough!! “Godspell” consists of the Apostles helping Jesus tell different parables through comedy, singing, and various storytelling techniques. All the way to the Last Supper, Crucifixion and Resurrection, the story of Jesus is told through song and dance. The cast was 13 members strong, which made up Jesus and his 12 Apostles! Thank you to everyone who came and supported our students and their performances! The energy was palpable both nights!
