HARBOR CREEK SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL: 12-3-2020 HCSD Positive Case Notification

Covidpositive

Harbor Creek Senior High School issued the following announcement on Dec. 3.

We felt it important to notify our community that the Harbor Creek School District was notified today that a non instructional staff member at Clark Elementary School is a probable case of COVID-19. The staff member was last at school within 48 hours of symptom onset. There were no close contacts identified due to the ability to social distance. The staff member is now  in isolation and will follow isolation guidelines per the Erie County Department of Health.

The Harbor Creek School District has mitigation efforts in place that includes proactively cleaning and disinfecting our school buildings. All areas previously used by the students have been thoroughly disinfected and fogged per our COVID-19 cleaning procedures. The Erie County Department of Health is no longer conducting contact tracing related to community close contacts. Any further close contacts required to quarantine in the community were notified by the staff member.  The parents/guardians of students who would have been in the same area of the probable case will receive a separate notification. Again, there were no staff or students that were directly affected by this probable case during school hours. This communication is for information only.

A reminder that if you believe you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or you are experiencing symptoms from the Daily Screening Tool, you should stay home and contact your doctor for guidance. The Harbor Creek School District is adhering to all CDC guidelines as well as all guidelines issued by the Pennsylvania and Erie County Departments of Health. As always, the privacy of the individual will be protected under HIPPA regulations. The health and safety of our faculty, staff, students, and families remains our number one priority. We will continue to communicate with our community throughout this process as needed.

If you have any questions, please contact the Assistant Pandemic Coordinator, Angela Pastuha at apastuha@harborcreeksd.com or 814-923-2913.
