HARBOR CREEK SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL: 11-9-2020 HCSD COVID-19 Positive Case Notification

Covidpositive

Harbor Creek Senior High School issued the following announcement on Nov. 9.

We felt it important to notify our community that the Harbor Creek School District was notified today, November 9th, that a student at the Jr/Sr High has tested positive for COVID-19. The Harbor Creek School District has communicated with the Erie County Department of Health and have followed the health and safety plan in accordance with the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the Pennsylvania Department of Health. The student was last in school on Tuesday, November 3rd. The student has been in isolation and will follow isolation guidelines per the Erie County Department of Health.

The Harbor Creek School District has mitigation efforts in place that includes proactively cleaning and disinfecting our school buildings. All areas previously used by the student have been thoroughly disinfected and fogged per our COVID-19 cleaning procedures. The Erie County Department of Health will speak with the parent/guardian of the student to conduct any further interviews required for community contact tracing and notify any individuals who may be required to self-quarantine. If you are not called by the Assistant Pandemic Coordinator or The Erie County Department of Health, your child is not directly affected by the positive case.

A reminder that if you believe you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or you are experiencing symptoms from the Daily Screening Tool, you should stay home and contact your doctor for guidance. The Harbor Creek School District is adhering to all CDC guidelines as well as all guidelines issued by the Pennsylvania and Erie County Departments of Health. As always, the privacy of the individual will be protected under HIPPA regulations. The health and safety of our faculty, staff, students, and families remains our number one priority. We will continue to communicate with our community throughout this process as needed.

If you have any questions, please contact the Assistant Pandemic Coordinator, Angela Pastuha at apastuha@harborcreeksd.com or 814-923-2913.
