Cathedral Preparatory School issued the following announcement on Oct. 21.
Last evening, members of Cathedral Prep, Villa Maria Academy, and Mother Teresa Academy’s President Leadership Council enjoyed an evening at the Hagerty Family Events Center. The event, which honors benefactors of Prep, Villa, and MTA, was the first event hosted by our school in many months due to the pandemic. Approximately 120 guests gathered in the Joann Mullen Gymnasium where they were able to socially distance while hearing about the latest school information from President Chris Hagerty `75 and Vice President of Advancement Lauren Bailey Varner `03.
In addition to updates on the school, Bishop Lawrence T. Persico bestowed a blessing on the group and thanked them for their generosity to Catholic education. Student speakers included Giana Morgan, an 8th grader from MTA, Villa senior Victoria Purchase `21 and Prep senior Joseph Armanini `21. Each provided a personal story of how attending MTA, Villa and Prep has impacted their lives and thanked the group for supporting them and their fellow students. Prep student Jaheim Bassham `21 and Villa student Mary Grace Kelly `21 were also selected to serve as ambassadors of the Prep and Villa campuses.
