Cost of college went up for all students at Pennsylvania State University-Penn State Erie-Behrend College

In-state tuition and fees rose 0.1 percent for 2018-19 at Pennsylvania State University-Penn State Erie-Behrend College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Pennsylvania residents paid $15,198 to attend the four-year public institution this year – $8 more than the $15,190 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 60.9 percent more than residents this year, or $24,450. Their price tag grew 3.2 percent from $23,692 in 2017-18.

About 74 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Pennsylvania residents. About 10 percent are residents of other states and 16 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 78 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 608 students received grants or scholarships totaling $4.4 million and 669 students took out student loans totaling more than $6.8 million.

Including all undergraduates (4,312), 3,371 students used grants or scholarships totaling $20.5 million, and 2,659 students took out $17.7 million in federal student loans.
