Cost of college went up for all students at Mercyhurst University

Tuition and fees rose 2.3 percent for 2018-19 at Mercyhurst University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Pennsylvania students paid $37,170 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $850 more than the $36,320 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 100 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 581 students received grants or scholarships totaling $15.3 million and 415 students took out student loans totaling more than $3.7 million.

Including all undergraduates (2,685), 2,419 students used grants or scholarships totaling $60.8 million, and 1,648 students took out $11 million in federal student loans.
