Cost of college went up for resident students at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania

In-state tuition and fees rose 2.8 percent for 2018-19 at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Pennsylvania residents paid $10,574 to attend the four-year public institution this year – $292 more than the $10,282 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 38.3 percent more than residents this year, or $14,622. Their price tag was reduced 0.3 percent from $14,668 in 2017-18.

About 89 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Pennsylvania residents. About 10 percent are residents of other states and 1 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 92 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 573 students received grants or scholarships totaling $3.8 million and 643 students took out student loans totaling more than $5 million.

Including all undergraduates (4,834), 3,027 students used grants or scholarships totaling $20 million, and 3,094 students took out $20.3 million in federal student loans.
