Senator Dan Laughlin has recently shared updates on community events and infrastructure developments in Erie County, Pennsylvania, through a series of social media posts.
On August 23, 2025, Senator Laughlin announced the upcoming replacement of the Beckman Road Bridge alongside PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll. In his post, he stated: “Joined PennDOT Sec. Mike Carroll in Girard to announce the Beckman Rd. Bridge replacement. It was closed after multiple strikes and no longer meeting federal standards, it will be torn down after Labor Day and rebuilt to the proper height.”
A few days later, on August 25, 2025, Senator Laughlin highlighted his participation in a local school event with his wife: “My wife Peggy and I had so much fun this morning welcoming the kids back for their first day of school at McKinley Elementary! The first day is always full of excitement. It was great to see so many smiles heading into the building. We’re wishing everyone a great school year.”
On August 26, 2025, he marked the beginning of a regional fair by sharing: “Cut the ribbon and raised a glass of milk to kick off the Erie County Fair in Wattsburg tonight! Hope you’ll stop by this week to enjoy the fair and support our ag community.”
The Beckman Road Bridge replacement follows its closure due to repeated vehicle strikes and failure to meet current federal safety standards. Local authorities determined that rebuilding was necessary for public safety and compliance with regulations.
Senator Dan Laughlin represents Erie County in Pennsylvania’s State Senate.
