Senator Dan Laughlin, who represents Pennsylvania’s 49th Senatorial District, recently shared updates on community initiatives and investments in Erie County through a series of posts on his social media account.
On April 13, 2026, Laughlin highlighted a visit to GrowErie with the Erie County Redevelopment Authority. He wrote, “Great visit this morning at GrowErie with the Erie County Redevelopment Authority. This innovative greenhouse at Savocchio Park is producing fresh, local food while representing a meaningful investment in Erie’s future and economic growth.”
The following day, April 14, Laughlin promoted an upcoming event for veterans. He stated, “Our Veterans Breakfast is coming up on April 29. Be sure to register soon as seats are filling quickly. I look forward to spending the morning with those who have served and showing our appreciation for your sacrifice.”
On April 15, Laughlin announced significant funding for water infrastructure improvements in Erie. He posted, “Clean, safe water matters and Erie is getting a major upgrade Today we announced $10 million in funding through the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority to improve local water infrastructure.”
According to his official website, Laughlin has secured more than $3 million in state tax credits for local organizations and $13.4 million in federal broadband funding for Erie County. His office notes that he maintains locations both in Harrisburg and Erie to serve constituents across nearly all of Erie County, including the city of Erie and numerous surrounding municipalities.
Laughlin has focused his legislative efforts on employment generation, reducing government spending, lowering tax burdens on businesses, and promoting reforms aimed at increasing government accessibility and accountability. He also serves as chair of the Senate Law and Justice Committee. Raised in Erie as the son of a decorated World War II veteran and later establishing himself as a small business owner, Laughlin’s background continues to inform his policy priorities.
