Pennsylvania State Senator Dan Laughlin, who represents the 49th District and focuses on job creation, government reform, and community investment, recently shared updates on social media regarding local events and initiatives.
On January 19, 2026, Laughlin recognized Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a message honoring the civil rights leader’s legacy: “Today we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his enduring call for justice, equality, and service. May we continue working together to build stronger, more united communities.”
The following day, January 20, 2026, Laughlin visited workers on strike at Parker Lord in Summit Township. He stated: “I visited the picket line at Parker Lord in Summit Township to hear from the IAM workers about their concerns. I hope for a swift and fair resolution and urge both parties to return to negotiations to reach an agreement. My goal is to see this dispute resolved quickly.”
On January 21, 2026, Laughlin met with Dr. Gibbs of Erie’s Public Schools and school board member Angie Amatangelo to discuss educational challenges in Erie: “Great meeting with Dr. Gibbs, of Erie’s Public Schools, and Erie School Board member Angie Amatangelo to discuss challenges and opportunities facing our schools.
I’ve long championed the ESD and will keep fighting to ensure Erie’s needs are front and center in Harrisburg.”
