Rep. Mike Kelly, who represents Pennsylvania’s 16th district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on recent local initiatives and responded to a national tragedy through a series of posts on his social media account.
On August 27, 2025, Rep. Kelly highlighted federal funding for emergency services in his district, stating: “Last year, our team secured $375,000 in federal funding for the Harrisville Volunteer Fire Company’s new tanker truck. Now, this taxpayer money is at work in our community. Thank you to these incredible volunteer firefighters for their commitment to the Harrisville community https://t.co/bzTrbpyLO6”.
Later that day, he discussed a visit to a local senior facility: “It was great to tour LIFE NWPA’s Meadville facility last week. I was pleased to see how their work is giving our local seniors greater independence and the freedom they seek in their golden years. I look forward to taking our conversations from this visit back to Washington as we” (August 27, 2025).
The following morning, Rep. Kelly commented on an incident involving violence during a religious service: “Our hearts and prayers continue to be with the parents and children in Minneapolis. It’s time to wake up, America. The loss of life at a church, during Catholic Mass, is unimaginable.

Mike Kelly has represented Pennsylvania’s 16th District since 2011 after succeeding Kathy Dahlkemper. He was born in Pittsburgh in 1948 and currently resides in Butler. Kelly graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1970.
