Rep. Mike Kelly, who represents Pennsylvania’s 16th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets between April 13 and April 15, 2026, highlighting recent tax relief measures and their impact on families in his district.

On April 13, Kelly wrote: “The Working Families Tax Cuts permanently expands the Child Tax Credit. The law invests in our Nation’s children for years to come. Children are 25% of our population, but they are 100% of our future.”

Continuing his focus on tax policy, Kelly posted on April 14: “Pennsylvania families deserve to keep more of what they earn. This year, the average taxpayer in our Commonwealth will see a $3,511 tax cut, providing meaningful relief for hardworking families across PA-16.”

On April 15—Tax Day—Kelly cited figures related to the implementation of new tax policies: “Great news on this #TaxDay thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts! 53 million+ filers claimed at least one of President Trump’s signature new tax cuts 6 million+ filers claimed No Tax on Tips 25 million+ filers claimed No Tax on Overtime $3,511 average refund for”

Mike Kelly has served as a member of Congress since replacing Kathy Dahlkemper in 2011 and is currently serving Pennsylvania’s 16th District. He was born in Pittsburgh in 1948 and resides in Butler. Kelly graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a BA in 1970.
