On June 14, 2025, Rep. Mike Kelly marked several significant celebrations in a tweet. He stated: “Today, we celebrate Flag Day, the symbol of the greatest country on Earth. We also celebrate the 250th birthday of the U.S. Army. Thank you for your service! And, a happy birthday to @POTUS!”
Two days later, on June 16, 2025, Kelly announced an important change regarding his district offices. He tweeted: “Today, we announced our Sharon District Office is moving to Hermitage! We will continue to have three offices throughout the 16th Congressional District to best serve you.” The announcement was accompanied by a link for more information.
On June 17, 2025, Rep. Kelly addressed fiscal concerns during a Ways and Means Committee hearing involving Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. In his tweet he wrote: “During last week’s @waysandmeansgop hearing, I asked Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent about what happens if Congress doesn’t pass the #OneBigBeautifulBill. His answer was crystal clear.” He quoted Bessent saying it would result in “the largest tax hike in history,” describing it as potentially disastrous for businesses.
Mike Kelly was born in Pittsburgh in 1948 and resides in Butler. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a BA in 1970.
