U.S. Representative Mike Kelly, Chairman of the Ways & Means Subcommittee on Tax, has expressed his approval following the House of Representatives’ passage of the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act.” The legislation aims to provide tax relief to American families and businesses.
“Today, House Republicans fulfilled a promise to deliver tax relief to the American people. This legislation will strengthen working families and small businesses in Pennsylvania and across the United States,” stated Rep. Kelly. He highlighted benefits such as an expanded Child Tax Credit and tax exemptions on tips, overtime, auto loan interest, and for seniors.
The act seeks to make permanent the 2017 Trump tax cuts while introducing additional pro-growth policies. According to a report from the Council of Economic Advisers, these measures could result in up to $13,300 more in take-home pay for a typical family and up to $11,600 more in wages for workers.
Key projections include an estimated 5.2 percent increase in America’s real GDP over four years and significant boosts in investment. Additionally, it is expected that 6.6 to 7.4 million full-time jobs will be saved or created within this period.
The bill also aims to protect taxpayers from potential hikes by making previous tax cuts permanent and offering new deductions and credits. It includes provisions like expanding education savings accounts and enhancing access to childcare services.
Rep. Kelly emphasized that these changes are designed not only for immediate impact but also with long-term benefits in mind: “We are building on the success of the 2017 Tax Cuts & Jobs Act and we are making sure these pro-growth tax policies will benefit generations to come.”
